Uncomfortable Oxford – Hidden Histories tour in aid of OSARCC

Uncomfortable Oxford will be offering tours monthly to support local charities, including us!

Uncomfortable Oxford Ltd. is an academic-led organisation that researches and runs critical thinking activities in several cities across the UK. Its primary activities are discussion-based walking tours designed to raise questions about controversial histories, including legacies of empire, inequality, race, gender, and class discrimination. The organisation is also committed to highlighting underrepresented histories of black and minority ethnic, women, and LGBTQIA+ communities. In addition to tours, the organisation develops educational tools, including lesson plans, podcasts, lectures, research articles, workshops, and self-guided tours. It organises free public events in an effort to bridge gaps between universities and local communities. All profits generated by Uncomfortable Oxford Ltd.’s activities are redeployed into outreach activities and partnerships which uphold its social mission.

Their Hidden Histories tour in aid of OSARCC will take place on Thursday 8th June 2023 at 4 PM and it will help you discover the stories of those who are often marginalised and left out of the city landscape: Women, people of colour, and LQBTQIA individuals.

Tickets are donation-based. Donate an amount of your choice to take part in the tour.
